In the quiet Cambridgeshire Fenland seven miles from the historic city of Ely, the Anchor Inn is an award winning AA rosette pub. Despite its rating, a three course lunch can be had for under £20 and an al a carte dinner for about £30. Recommended as a place to walk, twitch or chill, it has four rooms including two suites which are also suitable as family rooms.

The Anchor was built around 1650 to house the workers, mainly Scottish prisoners of war captured by Oliver Cromwell, who built the large drainage ditches.
