This pub / hotel is an unexpected and pleasant surprise on one of London's busiest roads. Just a stones throw from the infamous Hanger Lane roundabout, the Fox and Goose provides a haven of calm and comfort, not only to travellers but to locals as well. There's an extensive all day menu and, of course, Fullers excellent ales.
Although extended and modernised, the main bar has retained a traditional pub atmosphere with some of the original stained glass panels and the old fireplace in situ. The back bar is more modern and bright, with big leather sofas and plenty of seating for diners. At the rear of the building is an attractive, landscaped beer garden, an oasis in this part of the world.
For the most part though, this is a modern hotel with up to date facilities. The accommodation (73 bedrooms) is in a separate block and offers a high standard at reasonable cost, when compared with Central London, a few miles to the east. The function rooms offer conference facilities and can even host wedding parties.
Although the Fox and Goose may be a little out of the way, the Central Line tube station is just a short walk away, Wembley Stadium a short drive and Heathrow Airport is about 8 miles to the south-west.
