The creeper-clad Swan at Southrop is a pretty, mid-17th century Cotswold inn with a reputation for good food. Awarded 2 AA rosettes the pub is run by Lana and Sebastian Snow who moved here in 2008 from their West London restaurant “Snows on the Green”. Unsurprisingly much of the pub is devoted to dining, although the small public bar is cosy and down to earth. As well as a superior wine list you'll find a good pint of Hook Norton or similar local ale. One 19th century 'regular' was John Keble, poet and clergyman, who lived in the Old Vicarage. A leading light in the Oxford Movement a college was named in his honour.
