Wansford is a pretty village just off the A1 south of Stamford. The Haycock is a 16th century former coaching inn and the long straight road through the village once the main route to York. Now the Haycock is a quiet and sedate resting place for the weary traveller. The public rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful.
