There’s something mysterious about the Red Lion, its frontage is almost anonymous compared with its competitors. A request to take some interior photos was politely but firmly denied. Inside it’s a little like a gentleman’s club, its walls completely clad in dark oak panelling. The small front bar is comfortable and cosy, the open stone fireplace provides a welcoming glow in winter. The back bar is larger and has a dart board. It never seems to get that busy, has no music and is perfect for a quiet pint, although there are no cask ales.
