Winner of not one, but four awards from trade magazine 'thePublican' in 2009; 'Freehouse of the Year,' 'Pub of the Year,' 'Classic Pub Food of the Year and 'Drinks Pub of the Year,' gives some idea of the standard of the place. It claims to be oldest freehouse in England, with roots back to a 900 year old Saxon alehouse. It certainly is a beautiful old pub with great traditional food and a huge selection of beers, ales and wines. Near perfection, highly recommended! See our Perfect Pub blog.
