The ancient Farmers Arms building dates from the 14th century and became an inn three centuries later. It has all the trappings of an old pub with flagstone floors, low beams and open fires. There's a pretty patio and views of the lovely Cumbrian countryside including the Old Man of Coniston. A choice of ten bedrooms, from singles (not ensuite) to comfortable doubles to a four poster (all ensuite). Full marks from most guest reviews.
