The Crown of Crucis is ideally situated for exploring the Cotswolds, just east of Cirencester on the A417 toward Lechlade. This long, low, 16th century inn has contemporary decor but in an historic building. The restaurant and bar are pleasant enough, comfortable rather than cosy. Food is of a good standard and attracts locals as well as tourists. The Ampney Brook runs alongside the pleasant lawned gardens. Accommodation is in a separate building to the rear of the inn and has a high guest approval rating of over 90%.
