Yorkshire brewer, Sam Smith, has done what it does to its London pubs...nothing. They love them, then leave them alone. The Angel on St.Giles Circus has had a recent tidy-up, but retains its 1930's good looks. There are three bars, a public bar (an addition) with a dart board; the main saloon, plain and comfortable and the snug at the rear, a panelled intimate room with chesterfield sofa and a couple of armchairs.
This is an excellent pub - quite one of the best in London. Long may Sam Smiths "leave it alone". It doesn't need "refurbishing" or "renovating" or otherwise spoiling. It is perfect. Ideal in the winter with the coal fire and perfect beer.
