Greene King IPA, Morland Old Speckled Hen, and Guest Ales,
This 12th century thatched inn doesn't disappoint, it's as lovely on the inside, as it is strikingly pretty on the outside. Comfortable and charming, there's lots of low beams, exposed brick, an inglenook fireplace and a well, originally outside, which has been incorporated into the pub. After a friendly welcome, you might be tempted to some freshly prepared, locally sourced food. The cask ales are from Greene King and there's a regular guest ale. The pub also has accommodation in an annexe.

This looks very inviting.
The Four Horseshoesinforapint,
Having recently moved to Gislingham, I have used the pub on several occasions. I would say the beer is superb, the staff very friendly. The carvery on a Sunday is probably the best food I have ever tasted, go for the rare breed Pork... Well done to everyone.

The Four Horseshoesinforapint,
Just in reply to Jasper- Please do not be discouraged by this. If you are not used to a typical Suffolk meal, then you might want to move to London or Manchester. This place gives amazing food and has friendly cheerful staff! If you are visiting the area, you do not want to miss out! p.s. I would recommend get something with chips as they have the best homemade chips I have ever tasted!
The Four HorseshoesWazzJazz,
We live near this pub, and we always come here when we are in the mood for a typical english country Lunch! Highly Recommended!
The Four HorseshoesWazzJazz,
We dined here the week after Xmas, and travelled an hour to get there. What was once an excellent establishment is now crewed by young, rude staff. We were not even told the restaurant was closing (2.30pm) and were left awaiting a waitress for a dessert order, which of course disappeared into the black hole of lerthargic apathy. The kitchen staff then appeared in 'panda trousering' to confirm this apathy and we beat a hasty retreat. Be warned.
The Four Horseshoesjasper,
We stayed 16 & 17 September 2011 as we were attending a Wedding. We were made to feel very welcome, our room overlooked the rear garden, lovely and comfortable and clean. The food and service is excellent both my husband and myself would fully recommend a stay. Lovely woodland walks closeby and only a short drive into Southwold. Exellent location, will certainly return. Mr & Mrs Ibbotson
