Harvey's Sussex Bitter, Fullers London Pride, Sharp's Doom Bar, and Guest Ales,
This lovely 16th century freehouse is full of rustic charm. Two bars have flagstone floors, low beamed ceilings and inglenook fireplaces; the friendly locals congregate in the front bar, no doubt enjoying the well kept real ales. There’s a good and varied menu of salads, ploughman’s and sandwiches; pies, curry, burgers or specials such as shark steak - most around a tenner. The large garden is laid to lawn and features a delightful duck pond. A nine-pin skittle alley in the adjacent barn is available for hire.
The Fountain plays host to many local groups and activities, including the Austin Seven Club. The pub has several claims to fame, Hilaire Belloc featured the pub in his book “The Four Men,” Sir Laurence Olivier was a regular and Paul McCartney recorded his video for “A Wonderful Christmas Time” in the dining room. (Note: Children allowed in the restaurant only. Under 10's menu available). The Fountain Inn -
