There's something reassuringly English about a quirky pub, be it the Bantom hens that run around like pet cats, the duck-king pub sign or frogs-legs on the menu. It all adds to the character, especially in a country inn. The Kings Head is quite idyllic too; it overlooks the tranquil village green, is noted for its good food, has nice ales, a lovely courtyard garden and 12 attractive bedrooms. This former 16th century cider house has been elegantly furnished and sympathetically modernised without losing its original charm.
