Guy Ritchie’s Mayfair pub escapes suspension. 2009-12-16 The Punch Bowl in Mayfair will not lose its licence following a hearing by Westmister City Council's licensing sub-committee on 17th December. Calls by local residents to have the pub's licence revoked failed, despite complaints about noise, broken glasses and rowdy drinkers. However conditions were imposed by the council, including a restriction on drinking outside the pub, which will not be allowed after 8pm and smokers will be restricted to designated areas. The director of the new Sherlock Holmes film has plans to open two English style pubs in New York and Los Angeles, following the success of his venture in Mayfair which he co-owns with Nick House, a club and bar entrepreneur. |
