A good honest one bar local, situated on Wandsworth's notorious one way system. Provided you've successfully crossed the road, expect to find an excellent pint of Young's bitter, (brewed locally) and a comfortable and congenial atmosphere.
Local workers pop in for a pint, whilst retired gents play cards.

The Grapes was originally built in 1833 as a beer shop, that is it was licensed to sell beer, not spirits. At the time an effort to kerb the proliferation of gin, although it was granted a full license in 1849.
It would never had the lavish interior of the gin palaces, but has retained some unusual seating with built-in curved mirrors.
Perhaps the Grapes greatest asset, in the summer at least, is the delightful garden. Manicured with great care, it is a tranquil oasis away from that road!
